The Punjab Police has formed a four-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to look into the hooch tragedy in Sangrur district, which claimed the lives of at least 20 individuals. Notably, Harmanpreet and Gurlal have been identified as the masterminds behind the heinous act.

The authorities have seized a significant amount of incriminating evidence, including 200 litres of ethanol, various bottles of alcohol, suspected spurious liquor, empty bottles, and a bottling machine.
