Man Breaks into Orange County Home While Women Are Asleep

A man was recently accused of breaking into a home in Orange County, California, while three women were still asleep inside. The suspect, identified as Michael Alan Garnett, Jr., 44, was apprehended by the Westminster Police Department.

Details of the Break-In

On the morning of March 20, Garnett allegedly broke into a home located in the 14800 block of Cordoba Place in Westminster. The intrusion occurred shortly before 6 a.m. while the three women were sleeping in their bedrooms.

One of the women was abruptly awakened by loud noises and discovered Garnett inside the home. He had entered through a sliding glass door connected to the woman’s bedroom, according to the police report.

Another woman, upon hearing the commotion, fled outside the home to seek safety, while the third woman remained behind and attempted to engage with the suspect.

Unsettling Encounter

During the incident, Garnett purportedly lifted his shirt and revealed a hammer. Despite the intimidating display, he eventually requested food from the women. They escorted him to the kitchen, where they provided him with something to eat while awaiting the arrival of law enforcement.

Seated on the living room couch, Garnett consumed a banana and drank from a bottle of whiskey he had located in the residence. Upon the arrival of officers, he was taken into custody. Authorities suspect that Garnett may be experiencing homelessness.
