The mysterious death of a retired lab technician from the National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) has sent shockwaves through the community in Lucknow. The body of Manoj Kumar Srivastava, 60, was found in a locked car parked near Ganna Sansthan in Dalibagh, Hazratganj. Srivastava, a resident of SBI Colony on Kursi Road, had recently retired from his position at NBRI.

According to his wife Sushma, Srivastava had gone to his former workplace alone, but failed to return home as expected. Concerned, Sushma filed a missing person’s report with the Gudamba police when he did not return by 7.30 pm. Tragically, Srivastava’s body was discovered the following morning in the locked car. Inspector Vikram Singh of Hazratganj stated that CCTV footage is being reviewed to determine how Srivastava ended up in the car under such mysterious circumstances.

DCP of the North Zone, Abhijit Shankar, revealed that the post-mortem examination did not reveal the cause of Srivastava’s death. As a result, samples from his spleen, heart, and stomach have been preserved and sent for chemical analysis to determine the cause of death.
