The body of a 60-year-old woman, Monwara Begum, was found in a forest in Gazipur’s Sreepur upazila a week after she went missing. The police recovered the body from Gazari forest at Dakshin Barotopa village after being informed by locals. Police Recover Body of Missing Woman in Gazipur Forest
Authorities in Gazipur have recovered the body of a 60-year-old woman from a forest in Sreepur upazila, a week after she was reported missing by her family. The deceased, identified as Monwara Begum, wife of Abdur Rob from Maytapara village in Gazipur’s Sadar upazila, was found in Gazari forest at Dakshin Barotopa village under Mauna union.
According to reports, a police team was alerted by locals and recovered the body this afternoon. Sub-inspector Forkan Mia of Sreepur Police Station confirmed the discovery and stated that the body was later sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital in Gazipur for autopsy.
Monwara’s son, Jasimuddin, shared that his mother went missing after leaving their house on the morning of March 13. Following an extensive search and the failure to locate her, the family filed a general diary with Joydebpur Police Station on March 15.
“I identified my mother by her clothing, but I am unaware of the circumstances surrounding her death,” Jasimuddin expressed.
