Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- On March 20, 2024 at 11:59 am, a tragic incident occurred at 500 N. 4th St. in Effingham, Illinois. Reports came in that a family had discovered an unresponsive individual at the location, prompting a swift response from Effingham City Police, City Police Detective Division, and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene investigator.

The deceased was identified as Ashley Nicole Haarmann, a 37-year-old resident of Effingham, Illinois. Ashley lived at the address with her grandmother and was pronounced deceased at 12:25 pm on the same day.

An autopsy has been scheduled for 8 am on Friday, March 22, 2024, at the Sangamon County Coroner’s Office in Springfield, Illinois to determine the official cause of death. The Effingham County Coroner’s Office is currently awaiting the results of the autopsy and toxicology samples.
