A tragic incident unfolded in east Delhi’s Geeta Colony as a 65-year-old woman was fatally crushed by a speeding car on Wednesday. The horrifying event was captured on a CCTV camera outside a nearby house. The footage shows the elderly woman, identified as Janaki Kumari, being struck from behind by the out-of-control vehicle while she was sweeping outside her home. The impact sent her flying through the air before she was pinned between the car’s bonnet and a gate. The driver, Mukul Rathore (25), had recently obtained his driver’s license and lost control of the car while returning from Laxmi Nagar. The woman was rushed to a nearby hospital but tragically succumbed to her injuries. The Geeta Colony police have launched an investigation into the incident, which occurred around 7.30 am.

The Incident
The distressing video footage shows the elderly woman, a long-time resident of Geeta Colony, going about her daily chores by sweeping outside her house. Suddenly, a car zooms into the street, its driver losing control and colliding with the unsuspecting woman from behind. The impact propels her into the air before she is tragically pinned between the vehicle’s bonnet and a nearby gate.
Witnesses reported that following the collision, three individuals, including the driver and passengers, exited the car to assess the situation. In a panic, the driver hastily reversed the vehicle, allowing bystanders to pull the injured woman, identified as Janaki Kumari, to safety.
Legal Action
The Geeta Colony police station swiftly registered a case and launched an investigation into the harrowing incident, which transpired around 7:30 am. Despite immediate medical attention, Janaki Kumari succumbed to her injuries after being rushed to a nearby hospital.

The Driver
The driver of the car, Mukul Rathore, aged 25, had recently acquired his driving license. On the day of the accident, he was returning from the Laxmi Nagar locality when the tragic collision occurred. The victim, Janaki Kumari, resided with her family in Jheel Khurenja, and her sudden demise has left the community in mourning.
