The Mississippi Highway Patrol reported that the collision involved a head-on crash between the family’s vehicle and an 18-wheeler. The impact of the collision was severe, leading to the untimely demise of all three occupants.

Identification of the Deceased

Perry County Coroner Mike Malone identified the victims as 37-year-old Mitchell Kitchen, 39-year-old Samantha Kitchen, and their 5-year-old child. The family was said to be residents of the Ovett Community, adding to the somber nature of the incident.

Tragic Outcome

Despite efforts to save them, both parents succumbed to their injuries at the scene and were pronounced deceased at 10:45 a.m. The young child was rushed to a nearby hospital in Perry County but, tragically, was also pronounced dead at 11:03 a.m.
