Details of the Tragic Incident in Miami-Dade County, Florida
The FBI has now joined the efforts of the family of 26-year-old Demetrius Harris to find the suspect, Joshua Ismael Campos, who is believed to be responsible for the fatal shooting that took place during a heated dispute between neighbors. The incident occurred in the 13800 block of Southwest 270th Street in Miami-Dade County, Florida, on July 25, 2021.
Police Response and Investigation
Authorities were alerted to the shooting after receiving a ShotSpotter alert, prompting Miami-Dade police officers to rush to the scene. Upon arrival, they found Harris with gunshot wounds and immediately transported him to a nearby hospital. Tragically, Harris succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
Suspect identified
According to the investigation conducted by Miami-Dade police, the altercation that led to the shooting involved Harris, a woman named Maxine McCord, and her family members. It was reported that McCord’s boyfriend, Joshua Ismael Campos, emerged from their apartment and fatally shot Harris before fleeing the scene with McCord, leaving their young child with relatives.
