Two individuals, later identified as Isaih Sommerville, 31, and Harold Smith, 57, exited the vehicle to address the stop. During questioning, Sommerville admitted to having marijuana in his possession. A subsequent search revealed not only marijuana but also .31 pounds of methamphetamine and .31 pounds of crack. Smith also admitted to carrying cocaine, which was found on his person.

Search Warrant Leads to More Discoveries

Following the initial arrests, authorities obtained a search warrant for the room Sommerville was staying in at the Econo Lodge. Inside, they uncovered a loaded handgun, ammunition, and an additional .21 pounds of methamphetamine. The discovery of the firearm led to additional charges against Sommerville.

Legal Ramifications

As a result of the findings, Sommerville was charged with prohibited possession of a firearm, three counts of possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, and other related drug charges. He was subsequently taken into custody and held at Lackawanna County Prison on a bail set at $275,000.

Smith, on the other hand, faced charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He too was transported to Lackawanna County Prison, where he awaited his bail hearing set at $35,000.
