35-Year-Old Woman Fatally Shot in Oxnard
Tragedy struck in Oxnard on Sunday night as a 35-year-old woman lost her life after being shot in the torso. The incident took place in the 1000 block of Industrial Avenue, near Five Points, just off East Wooley Road. Authorities were alerted to a possible fight with shots fired at 11:53 p.m., prompting a swift response from the Oxnard Police Department.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers and emergency personnel discovered the victim, identified as Yanelly Vargas, suffering from a gunshot wound. She was quickly transported to the Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura, where she tragically succumbed to her injuries. The Oxnard Police Department’s major crimes unit is currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
