During a search operation in the Kolamarka mountains near Repanpalli on Tuesday morning, one of the C-60 unit teams came under fire from the Naxalites. The security personnel retaliated, resulting in a fierce exchange of gunfire. After the dust settled, the bodies of four male Naxalites were discovered. Among the deceased were Vargeesh and Magtu, both secretaries of different Naxal committees, as well as platoon members Kursang Raju and Kudimetta Venkatesh.

Recovery of Weapons and Rewards
Aside from the casualties, the police also recovered a significant amount of weaponry and other items from the encounter site. The Naxalites were carrying an AK-47 gun, a carbine, two country-made pistols, Naxal literature, and various other items. Moreover, the four individuals had a collective cash reward of Rs 36 lakh on their heads, highlighting their notoriety within the Naxal movement.
