Joint Operation in Orangi Town Leads to Arrest of Fraudulent Suspects

In a coordinated effort between Pakistan Rangers Sindh and the local police, a successful joint operation was conducted in Karachi’s Orangi Town. The operation resulted in the apprehension of three suspects involved in fraudulent activities, abduction for ransom, and extortion.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Kamal alias Kami, Shiraz Khan alias Shizi alias Boss, and Rao Irfan. During the operation, fake documents, including two fake South Defence Department cards and extortion notes, were recovered from the suspects.

It was revealed that the suspects had been posing as Rangers and police personnel on social media, using videos in uniform for nefarious purposes. Upon initial interrogation, the suspects confessed to abducting numerous citizens from various areas of Karachi, such as Orangi Town, Steel Town, and Sultanabad. They would then transfer the victims to rented accommodations and release them after receiving ransom payments.

Raids are currently underway to apprehend any accomplices connected to the arrested suspects. The authorities have handed over the suspects and confiscated items to the police for further legal proceedings.

Interprovincial Drug Trafficking Gang Busted by SIU

In a separate operation led by the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the Karachi Police, two individuals allegedly linked to an interprovincial drug trafficking gang were apprehended. The operation was initiated based on intelligence suggesting that the suspects were stationed under a bridge near Qalandria Chowk, Shahra-e-Noor Jahan.

The arrested individuals, identified as Khalil and Aamir, were found in possession of approximately 4 kilograms and 215 grams of hashish. Following their apprehension, a case has been filed against them for their involvement in drug trafficking.

Preliminary investigations uncovered that the suspects sourced their drugs from individuals known as Kakki and Bhai Jan in Quetta. The accused operated in Faqir Colony, Orangi Town, distributing the drugs to various consumers in areas like Katti Pahari, Nazimabad, Baldia, Sultanabad, among others, using motorcycles.

Authorities have indicated that further investigations are ongoing to uncover additional details and potential accomplices linked to the drug trafficking network.
