The Tragic Shooting Death of Zaavan Brown in Titusville Apartment

A 911 caller led Titusville Police officers to discover the body of a man shot to death in an apartment late Friday night. The shooting took place at around 9 p.m. in the 600 block of Timber Trace Lane, Titusville. The victim was identified as Zaavan Brown, a 32-year-old resident of Titusville.

According to police reports, the 911 call reported that Brown was found in the apartment with a gunshot wound. Sadly, Brown was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not disclosed any information about a possible suspect or the discovery of a weapon at the crime scene.

Family members of the deceased expressed their shock and grief over the incident. Helen Hayes, Brown’s grandmother, stated that they have not been informed about any details of the case. “We haven’t heard anything,” she said. “He was a good person, but I don’t know what happened; they haven’t told us.”

Titusville Police Spokesperson Amy Matthews issued a statement on Monday, stating, “Preliminary evidence revealed this was an isolated incident.” The police have questioned witnesses but have not provided further details on the ongoing investigation.
