An employee of a CBD and kratom store owned by Biloxi councilman Robert L. Deming III has been arrested on a federal criminal complaint connected to Deming’s pending drug case. Celeste “CJ” Little pleaded not guilty to a charge of attempt and conspiracy to alter, destroy, and cover up a tangible object to impede an investigation. Little was working at one of Deming’s CBD and kratom stores when DEA agents raided the stores and seized over $1.8 million. Little is accused of instructing a manager to dispose of a Schedule 1 controlled substance. This case is part of a federal investigation that began in 2020.

Deming Employee Arrested in Connection to Biloxi Councilman’s Drug Case
An employee of a CBD and kratom store owned by Biloxi councilman Robert L. Deming III has found herself in hot water after being arrested on a federal criminal complaint. Celeste “CJ” Little appeared in federal court in Gulfport on Monday to face charges connected to Deming’s pending drug case.
Arrest and Charges
Little pleaded not guilty to a charge of attempt and conspiracy to alter, destroy, and cover up a tangible object with the intent to impede, obstruct, or influence an investigation. The incident took place at one of Deming’s nine CBD and kratom stores known as The Candy Shop, LLC, located in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Court Proceedings
During the court appearance, Judge Robert Myers released Little on an unsecured $25,000 bond. The charging document reveals that Little was working at The Candy Shop when Drug Enforcement Administration agents conducted raids on all of Deming’s stores on Jan. 23, 2023. The raids resulted in the seizure of more than $1.8 million in cash.
Alleged Crime
Following the raids, Deming, Little, and other associates reportedly started making calls to each other and business partners. Little is accused of committing the federal crime when she instructed a manager at one of the Candy Shop stores in Fayetteville, North Carolina, to dispose of a synthetic cannabinoids additive known as MDMB-4en-PINACA, classified as a Schedule 1 controlled substance.
