Nokomis Police are investigating a tragic homicide-suicide at the Dollar General store on Spruce St. A 22-year-old employee, Summer Eller, was found dead from a gunshot wound, while Jason Devaisher, 46, was discovered with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and later died in the hospital. Devaisher was identified as Eller’s estranged boyfriend. The incident occurred just before closing time, with Devaisher confronting Eller before taking his own life. Nokomis Police Investigate Tragic Homicide-Suicide at Dollar General Store

Authorities in Nokomis, a small town located 55 minutes southeast of Springfield in Montgomery County, are currently investigating a heartbreaking incident that occurred at the Dollar General store on 415 N. Spruce St. on Friday night.

According to reports from the Nokomis Police, officers responded to the scene just after 10 p.m. to find a devastating scene. Summer Eller, a 22-year-old employee of the store, was discovered dead from an apparent gunshot wound. Police Chief Talon Burton confirmed this in a recent news release.

Additionally, officers found Jason Devaisher, 46, inside the store. Devaisher had suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was rushed to the hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.

Tragic Relationship Dynamics Unveiled

A preliminary investigation revealed that Devaisher was Eller’s estranged boyfriend. It is believed that he entered the store just before closing time, confronted Eller, and fatally shot her before turning the gun on himself.
