Noida: A tragic incident unfolded on Sunday on the Yamuna Expressway near Noida, as a speeding Swift car crashed into a group of people waiting to catch a bus to Agra. The impact of the collision was devastating, leaving one man dead and two others injured.
The driver of the Swift, identified as Raja, was arrested at the scene. According to police reports, he had allegedly fallen asleep at the wheel, leading to the fatal crash. Eyewitnesses described the horrifying scene, recounting how the car ploughed into the waiting group with such force that one of the men, later identified as Suresh from Jewar, was thrown into the air and landed in a ditch off the Yamuna Expressway.
Jewar police officials swiftly responded to the incident, dispatching a team to the scene along with an ambulance. The injured victims, Kuldeep and Ramkumar, were rushed to the hospital for treatment. Tragically, Suresh was pronounced dead upon arrival at the medical facility.
Investigations revealed that Raja, the driver, was on his way to Agra, his hometown, when the accident occurred. Feeling drowsy behind the wheel, he lost control of the vehicle, leading to the fatal collision. Subsequently, an FIR was registered against Raja under IPC sections 279 and 338, following a complaint filed by the family members of the deceased, Suresh.
