A Delhi Police head constable was booked for driving under the influence and causing damage to multiple vehicles on the Daryaganj-ITO road in central Delhi. The incident, which occurred early Sunday morning, involved the head constable, identified as Mohit, hitting a taxi driven by Ramesh. Despite minor damages, Ramesh chose not to file a police report. The head constable, who was driving a Maruti Suzuki Baleno car, also collided with at least three other vehicles around 2 am. Drunk Delhi Police Officer Hits Vehicles in Central Delhi

Early Sunday morning in central Delhi, a shocking incident took place involving a Delhi Police head constable driving under the influence. The officer, identified as Mohit, was booked for hitting several vehicles on the Daryaganj-ITO road.

Eye-Witness Account

One of the vehicles Mohit hit was a taxi, whose driver, Ramesh, recounted the incident to the authorities. According to Ramesh, the head constable collided with his cab from behind, causing minor damages. Despite the impact, Ramesh chose not to file a police report.

Police Action

Upon receiving the information, the police team arrived at the scene to investigate further. It was confirmed that Mohit, the accused officer, is a head constable in the Delhi Police’s Special Cell. Subsequently, an action under section 185 of the Motor Vehicle Act was initiated against him.

Multiple Vehicle Collisions

Sources revealed that Mohit, driving a Maruti Suzuki Baleno, not only hit the taxi but also collided with at least three other vehicles in the vicinity around 2 am. The taxi driver stated that he was en route to ITO from Daryaganj when the Baleno struck his vehicle and continued towards ITO.

Ongoing Investigation

The police authorities assured that a thorough investigation is underway to determine the extent of the officer’s actions. CCTV footage of the entire incident is being reviewed to gather more evidence. If any individual is found guilty, strict actions will be taken against them.
