Details of the Incident
The shooting took place just after 9:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of Southeast 16th Place. Upon arrival, officers found Rincon-Miller injured and immediately began lifesaving measures. Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
According to the girls who were with Rincon-Miller, a car pulled up and blinded them with its lights before several suspects emerged from the vehicle and attempted to rob them. One of the suspects then opened fire, striking Rincon-Miller in the chest. The other two girls were unharmed in the incident. The car fled the scene heading south on Southeast 16th Place.
