A murder convict was sentenced to death while his two accomplices were imprisoned for life for killing a man in May 2021 in Taxila. The prime suspect, Aqil Khan, along with Abdul Razaq and Mohammad Safdar, murdered Mazhar Ali over a dispute in the Gandakas area. The police arrested the suspects and presented substantial evidence during the trial, leading to their conviction. The Additional Session Judge, Pindigheb Qammar Zaman Bhatti, handed down the verdict. In a separate incident, Attock Police apprehended two proclaimed offenders in theft cases. Additionally, a motorcyclist was fatally struck by a van on Kohat-Rawalpindi Road.

Conviction in Murder Case in Taxila

In a recent development in Taxila, a murder convict has been sentenced to death while his two accomplices have been imprisoned for life for the brutal killing of a man in May 2021. The incident took place within the jurisdiction of Pindigheb police station, in the picturesque Gandakas area.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the main suspect, Aqil Khan, along with Abdul Razaq and his brother Mohammad Safdar, murdered Mazhar Ali due to an ongoing feud. After committing the crime, the perpetrators fled the scene, but were later apprehended by the diligent efforts of the local police.

During the trial, the prosecution presented substantial evidence linking the accused suspects to the murder of Mazhar Ali, which ultimately led to their conviction. The Additional Session Judge, Pindigheb Qammar Zaman Bhatti, delivered the verdict, sentencing Aqil Khan to death and imposing life imprisonment on Abdul Razaq and Mohammad Safdar. The convicts were also fined for their heinous actions.

Arrest of Proclaimed Offenders in Attock

Meanwhile, the Attock Police made significant strides in law enforcement by arresting two proclaimed offenders (POs) who were wanted in separate cases. Pindigheb police successfully apprehended Mohammad Asghar, a PO involved in a theft case, while Fatehjang police captured Nawar Kamal, wanted in connection with a cattle theft case.

Tragic Motorcycle Accident

In a tragic turn of events, a motorcyclist met with a fatal accident on the Kohat-Rawalpindi Road near the Tehsil headquarters hospital in Pindigheb. The victim, Mohammad Tariq, a resident of Dhoke Dera, was en route to visit a sick relative at the hospital when a Rawalpindi-bound passenger van collided with his motorcycle.

Despite being rushed to the Tehsil headquarters hospital for medical treatment, Mohammad Tariq succumbed to his injuries. The local police registered a case against the van driver and initiated a thorough investigation into the incident to ensure justice for the deceased.

These recent events highlight the importance of upholding law and order in the community, as authorities work tirelessly to bring criminals to justice and ensure the safety of residents in the region.
