A man who owned multiple cats shot his host multiple times after a dispute over his feline companions, according to authorities in Lee County, Florida. Glenn William White II, aged 59, is currently in custody at the local jail on a $25,000 bond for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

The incident occurred on Friday, March 8, when deputies responded to the scene and found the victim, identified as Autumn Amor by Fort Myers NBC affiliate WBBH, with multiple gunshot wounds. White was also apprehended at the location.

It was reported that White had been staying at Amor’s residence after being evicted from his own home on Monday, March 4. Amor, who described White as her neighbor, allowed him to move in temporarily. Initially, White had three cats, but he continued to bring more home each day, eventually accumulating a total of six cats.

The disagreement arose when Amor insisted that the cats live outside the house rather than inside. According to reports, she decided to move the cats outside, prompting a confrontation with White.

Amor revealed that White had been concealing the additional cats in the guest bedroom, causing a foul odor in the house. When she attempted to locate the cats in his room, White allegedly retrieved a firearm and began shooting at her.

Despite her pleas for him to stop, White reportedly continued to shoot at Amor until he ran out of ammunition. The victim sustained ten gunshot wounds all over her body, leading to her hospitalization.

Following the incident, investigators found casings and a firearm at the scene. White was taken into custody, but his post-Miranda statements were redacted by the sheriff’s office. Amor attributed the shooting to White’s recent eviction, believing he may have intended to target someone else.

A court hearing is scheduled for April 8 to address the charges against White. Amor expressed gratitude for surviving the attack and emphasized the severity of the situation, highlighting the potential consequences if White had more bullets.

This distressing incident serves as a reminder of the importance of conflict resolution and the potential consequences of escalating disputes. It underscores the need for effective communication and peaceful resolution of disagreements to prevent such tragic outcomes.
