A routine traffic stop on Putney Road in Brattleboro led to the arrest of two local residents for cocaine possession on March 15. Vermont State Police troopers pulled over a vehicle at 12:04 p.m., where the driver, 39-year-old Justin Hale, was found to have an active out-of-state warrant. Both Hale and his passenger, 24-year-old Tessa Scott, were discovered to be in possession of cocaine. They were arrested without incident and taken to the Westminster Barracks for processing. Hale faces charges of being a fugitive from justice and cocaine possession, while Scott received a citation and is scheduled to appear in court on April 30.

The driver, identified as 39-year-old Justin Hale, a resident of Brattleboro, was found to have an active out-of-state warrant for his arrest. As the investigation unfolded, the trooper also uncovered that both Hale and his passenger, 24-year-old Tessa Scott, were in possession of cocaine.

Arrest and Bail

Without incident, both individuals were promptly arrested and taken to the Westminster Barracks for processing. Hale, facing charges of being a fugitive from justice on top of cocaine possession, was later lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility on a $5,000 bail.

He is set to make his appearance before the Windham County Superior Court on March 18 at 12:30 p.m. Scott, on the other hand, was released with a citation and is scheduled to appear before the same court on April 30 at 8:30 a.m. to address her charge of cocaine possession.
