Authorities from the Westminster Police Department swiftly responded to the scene after receiving reports of the stabbing around 1 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a chaotic scene with multiple residents of the apartment complex restraining the suspect, who has been identified as Isaias Saquic-Saquic, aged 35. The quick actions of those present helped prevent further harm.
Details of the Tragic Event
According to police statements, the altercation that led to the stabbing stemmed from a physical argument between Saquic-Saquic and his roommate and neighbour, Alvaro Martin-Perez, aged 48. The situation quickly escalated into violence, resulting in Martin-Perez sustaining multiple stab wounds. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, he tragically succumbed to his injuries, leaving a void in the community.
Another roommate, a 35-year-old man, also suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the incident and received medical treatment at a local hospital. The bravery displayed by Martin-Perez in trying to protect his neighbour has been commended by Westminster Police Chief Darin Lenyi, who described his actions as nothing short of heroic.

Following the investigation, Saquic-Saquic was taken into custody and booked at Orange County Jail on charges of murder and attempted murder.
