Ravindra Arrested for Allegedly Strangling Ajay to Death

New Delhi: A vagabond has been arrested by the police for allegedly strangling a man to death in Maidan Garhi area of south Delhi. The incident occurred after the victim, Ajay, reportedly abused a security guard, prompting the accused, identified as Ravindra, to seek revenge by taking the extreme step.

Ravindra, originally from Etah in Uttar Pradesh, used to work as a labourer at an event management company before leaving the job and residing in a DDA park. The tragic event unfolded on March 9 when Ajay’s body was discovered near the park, following a complaint received by the police.

Upon investigation, CCTV footage revealed Ajay entering the park with an unidentified individual, with both individuals not seen exiting the area. Subsequent footage showed the suspect engaged in a phone conversation near the park.

Further analysis of Ajay’s phone records led the police to a relative who reported a stranger, identified as Aslam, claiming that Ajay had borrowed money and exchanged his phone with him. This information led the authorities to Ramphal Chowk in Sector 7 of Dwarka, where the suspect was apprehended while selling oranges wearing the victim’s shoes.

During interrogation, Ravindra confessed to the crime, stating that an intoxicated individual had verbally abused the security guard who provided him with food. Provoked by the situation and also under the influence of alcohol, Ravindra planned to teach the victim a lesson.

Ravindra befriended Ajay, consumed alcohol with him, and lured him to an isolated location. Once the victim was heavily intoxicated, Ravindra allegedly physically assaulted and strangled him before fleeing the scene with Ajay’s belongings.

The authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident. This tragic event serves as a stark reminder of the dangers that can arise from altercations fueled by alcohol and escalating violence.
