MARION COUNTY, S.C. – Missing Paramedic Found Dead in South Carolina
MARION COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF/Gray News) – A missing paramedic was tragically found dead in Dillon County, South Carolina, while her car was discovered at the scene of a fatal shooting involving a police officer in New Mexico.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office revealed that Phonesia Machado-Fore’s body was located in Dillon County on Friday evening. Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley has scheduled an autopsy for Monday to determine the cause of death.
Expressing his condolences, Marion County Sheriff Brian Wallace stated, “Mrs. Fore was an integral part of our first responder community. Her untimely death is a senseless tragedy that has deeply impacted our community. My team and I are committed to ensuring that those responsible for her death face justice.”
Machado-Fore was last seen at her residence on Tuesday and was officially reported missing to authorities on Thursday. Her vehicle was discovered at the site of a fatal shooting where a state police officer lost his life in New Mexico.

Man Wanted for Killing New Mexico State Police Officer
The suspect, Jaremy Smith, aged 32, is currently wanted on multiple charges, including first-degree murder, armed robbery, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, and being a felon in possession of a firearm, as per the New Mexico State Police.
Authorities have revealed that Smith’s charges are linked to the tragic killing of 35-year-old state police officer Justin Hare on Interstate 40 in New Mexico early Friday morning.
Officer Hare was assisting Smith on the roadside when he was fatally shot, according to law enforcement officials.
