Missing Paramedic Found Dead in South Carolina, Linked to New Mexico Police Officer Shooting

MARION COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF/Gray News) – A missing paramedic, Phonesia Machado-Fore, was tragically found dead in Dillon County, South Carolina, on Friday evening. Her car was discovered at the scene of a fatal shooting involving a police officer in New Mexico. An autopsy to determine the cause of her death is scheduled for Monday, according to Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley.

Marion County Sheriff Brian Wallace expressed his sorrow at the loss of Machado-Fore, stating, “Her death is senseless. Our community has suffered a tremendous loss. My team and I are committed to bringing the person or persons responsible for her death to justice.”

Machado-Fore was last seen at her home on Tuesday, and her disappearance was reported to authorities on Thursday. The discovery of her body in South Carolina has raised concerns about the circumstances surrounding her death.

The investigation took a chilling turn when it was revealed that Machado-Fore’s car was found at the location of a deadly shooting involving a New Mexico State Police officer. The officer, Justin Hare, was offering roadside assistance when he was shot and killed.
