GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) – California Man Sentenced for Drug Trafficking
In a recent development, Keith Quintal McGill, a 44-year-old resident of Palmdale, Calif., has been handed a lengthy prison sentence of 270 months. This decision comes following an extensive investigation into a large-scale drug trafficking operation that involved the shipment of substantial quantities of methamphetamine through the United States Postal Service to the Southern District of Mississippi.
Court records reveal that McGill came under scrutiny in 2019 after he was found to be shipping pound quantities of meth into the state of Mississippi. This discovery prompted federal authorities to launch a thorough investigation into his activities.
On July 8, 2019, federal agents orchestrated a controlled purchase from McGill, during which he dispatched 441 grams of 100% pure methamphetamine to a monitored post office box in Mississippi. This transaction served as key evidence in building a case against McGill.
Following a diligent investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Homeland Security Investigations, McGill was indicted by a federal grand jury. Subsequently, on December 13, 2023, he pleaded guilty to charges of attempting to possess methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
