Tragic Fatal Stabbing at Fall River Rooming House

In a heartbreaking turn of events, authorities in Fall River, Mass., are currently investigating a fatal stabbing that took place inside a rooming house on Tripp St. Friday night. The incident, which resulted in the tragic death of 44-year-old Joseph Bump, has left the community in shock.

Emergency Response

Fall River Police and paramedics rushed to the scene at 234 Tripp St. after receiving a distress call around 9:45 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Bump in critical condition and immediately began administering aid. Despite their best efforts, Bump was pronounced dead upon arrival at Saint Anne’s Hospital.

Suspect in Custody

Authorities were quick to apprehend the suspect, 42-year-old Pedro Fernando Orellano Alvarado, who was still on the premises. Alvarado has since been charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and is scheduled to appear in Fall River District Court on Monday.

Resident Connection

Both the victim, Joseph Bump, and the suspect, Pedro Alvarado, were residents of the rooming house where the tragic incident occurred. The close proximity of the two individuals has raised questions about the motive behind the violent altercation.
