Man Arrested After Fatal Stabbing in Fall River Rooming House

A 42-year-old man has been taken into custody by police in Fall River following a tragic incident involving a fatal stabbing at a rooming house on Tripp Street.

The authorities were alerted to the scene at around 9:45 p.m., after reports emerged of a stabbing at 234 Tripp Street. The victim, 44-year-old Joseph Bump, was swiftly transported to Saint Anne’s Hospital but, sadly, was pronounced dead just before 10:30 p.m., as confirmed by the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.

The suspect, Pedro Fernando Orellano Alvarado, was apprehended at the rooming house and has since been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He is currently being held in custody over the weekend and is due to appear in Fall River District Court for arraignment on Monday.
