Fundraiser Launched for Jacob Pratt’s Recovery

In a heartwarming display of support, more than $102,000 has been raised through a GoFundMe campaign initiated by the New York State Council of School Superintendents. The fundraiser aims to assist Pratt in covering the costs of his medical treatment and rehabilitation as he battles severe injuries sustained in the tragic crash.

Remembering the Fallen Heroes

Among the victims of the helicopter crash were National Guard soldier Casey Frankoski, aged 28, and New York State Police trooper John M. Grassia III, aged 30. Both individuals had also served in the National Guard, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to protecting and serving their country.

Frankoski, a proud graduate of Columbia High School in East Greenbush, was described by Rensselaer Mayor Mike Stammel as an outstanding student who excelled in academics, sports, and community service before embarking on a career in the New York National Guard. Her legacy as an American hero continues to resonate within the community.

Grassia, who joined the New York State Police in April 2022 and was stationed in Troop G (Latham), Albany County, will be fondly remembered for his dedication to safeguarding the citizens of New York State and the entire nation. The New York State Troopers Police Benevolent Association paid tribute to his selfless sacrifice and service.
