Pursuit Suspects Apprehended after Abandoning Stolen Car in East LA Neighborhood

Five young suspects were apprehended at the conclusion of a brief reckless driving pursuit in East Los Angeles on Friday.

The pursuit commenced shortly before 5 p.m. in the vicinity of Carson, when deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department observed the suspect displaying reckless driving behaviour.

Subsequently, a chase ensued as law enforcement officers attempted to apprehend the suspects. It was later revealed that the vehicle involved in the pursuit had been reported stolen.

Despite the escalating danger posed to the public, the pursuit continued for several minutes until all units were called off. The suspects, however, persisted in evading capture, with the vehicle being driven on the wrong side of the road and disregarding traffic signals.

The pursuit eventually culminated near Bandini Elementary School, where the car came to a halt. Subsequently, five individuals exited the vehicle and dispersed, fleeing through residential yards and along the sidewalk.

Upon the arrival of LASD units at the scene, all five suspects, comprising four males and one female, were successfully detained. Due to their status as juveniles, their identities have not been disclosed. Notably, three of the suspects are believed to be Cambodian runaways.

No further details have been provided regarding the incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
