Suspected Drunk Driver Causes Serious Crash in San Antonio

The San Antonio Police Department reported a serious crash on Friday night involving a suspected drunk driver. The incident occurred on the 14100 block of Bulverde Road when a red Nissan Rogue collided with a red Chevrolet Cruze at around 10:30 p.m.

According to authorities, the Nissan was travelling northbound on Bulverde Road when it crossed the median and struck the southbound Chevrolet head-on. The impact of the crash left a 33-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the Chevrolet, critically injured. She was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, while the condition of the Chevrolet driver remains unknown at this time.

Driver Arrested for Suspected DWI

The driver of the Nissan, identified as 66-year-old Truman Freeman, was assessed for intoxication by the police at the scene of the crash. It was reported that Freeman’s blood alcohol level was at least .15, which is almost double the legal limit of .08 in the state of Texas.

Following the evaluation, Freeman was arrested and taken into custody at the Bexar County jail. He is now facing a charge of driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol level exceeding .15, as stated by the San Antonio Police Department.

This incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol and the severe consequences that can result from such reckless behaviour. The SAPD continues to investigate the crash to determine the full extent of the damage and any additional charges that may be brought against Freeman.
