The crash took place at 8:41 p.m. on March 15, 2024, at the intersection of Kell Blvd West and Holliday Street. Upon arrival at the scene, Wichita Falls Police found Alarcon in a severely damaged 2008 Chevrolet pickup. Despite their efforts to revive him, Alarcon tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at United Regional Hospital at 10 p.m.

The driver of the second vehicle involved in the crash was identified as 20-year-old Dakota Philips, who was found in a damaged 2019 Chevrolet Silverado. Philips sustained injuries and was also taken to United Regional for treatment.
