Tragic Fatal Crash in Monticello, MN

In a devastating turn of events, a fatal crash took place in central Minnesota early Saturday morning, involving a Fillmore County man. The incident occurred on I-94 in Wright County, just 5 miles northwest of Monticello.

The State Patrol reported that 60-year-old Wayne Lange from Spring Valley was driving a semi tanker truck that collided with a pickup truck. The crash occurred at an interchange on the westbound side of the freeway. The road conditions were dry at the time of the incident.

Tragically, the pickup truck driver, identified as 81-year-old Dennis Wendell from North Oaks, was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. On the other hand, Wayne Lange, the driver of the semi tanker truck, miraculously escaped the crash uninjured.
