Vermont State Police Conducting Death Investigation in Somerset

SOMERSET, Vt. (NEWS10) — Vermont State Police have launched a death investigation in Somerset following an incident that occurred on March 13 on Somerset Road.

At 9:53 p.m. on Wednesday, state police received a report of an unresponsive woman inside a parked car. The caller mentioned a strong chemical odor emanating from the vehicle, prompting the Vermont Hazmat team to be dispatched to the scene.

Troopers cordoned off the area and closed off the scene while the vehicle was examined. Subsequent investigation revealed that the occupant of the car, identified as Alexandra Andrade, a 41-year-old from Stamford, Connecticut, was deceased.

Andrade’s body was taken to the office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Burlington for an autopsy. Vermont State Police have stated that the death is not being treated as suspicious, and there is no danger to the public. The chemical hazard mitigation was carried out on March 14.
