Man Arrested for 5th OWI Offense After Fleeing Traffic Crash in Janesville, Wisconsin

A man in Janesville, Wisconsin, was apprehended by authorities for allegedly fleeing the scene following a traffic collision on Friday. The incident also involved the man being charged with his reported 5th offense of Operating While Intoxicated (OWI).

Rock County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a single vehicle crash in the 2400 block of N Burdick Road at around midnight. The driver, believed to be responsible for the crash, absconded from the scene but was later tracked down by law enforcement using a drone.

The individual, a 60-year-old resident of Janesville, displayed signs of impairment when apprehended. Following a thorough investigation, the man was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence.

Authorities revealed that the man had previously been convicted four times for OWI offenses, making this latest arrest his 5th OWI charge. Subsequently, he was transported to the Rock County Jail for further legal proceedings.
