26-Year-Old Toronto Man Charged with Second-Degree Murder

A 26-year-old man from Toronto has been charged with second-degree murder following a fatal stabbing that occurred during an altercation earlier this year.

The tragic incident took place on January 11 in the vicinity of Lake Shore Boulevard West and Lower Spadina Avenue, sparking a police response.

Authorities received a distress call at approximately 8:20 p.m. reporting a stabbing in the area.

According to police reports, a heated argument erupted between two individuals, escalating to a violent confrontation that resulted in one man being fatally stabbed.

Efforts were made to save the victim’s life, and he was promptly transported to a nearby hospital. Despite the medical intervention, the victim, identified as 46-year-old Matthew Crosby from Toronto, succumbed to his injuries on February 9.

Tragically, Crosby’s death marks the fifth homicide in Toronto since the beginning of the year, underscoring the urgency for justice and accountability.

On March 13, the authorities apprehended 26-year-old Kyle Allegro of Toronto in connection with the murder case. Allegro faces charges of second-degree murder and appeared in court on Thursday for further legal proceedings.
