Third Victim of North Las Vegas Apartment Shooting Identified

In a tragic incident at a North Las Vegas apartment complex, the identity of the third victim of a gunman who fatally shot three women and a dog has been revealed. The Clark County Coroner has confirmed that the third victim is Tiffany Mawhorter, a 42-year-old woman who succumbed to a perforating gunshot wound to the neck. Her death has been officially classified as a homicide.

The North Las Vegas Police Department swiftly responded to reports of gunfire in the 2200 block of East Nelson Avenue on Tuesday, March 12. A chilling 911 call captured the sounds of shots being fired in the background, prompting an urgent police intervention.

Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers encountered an armed individual, later identified as 43-year-old Edward Brooks. Despite repeated commands to drop his weapon, Brooks continued to approach the officers, leading to a fatal confrontation where two officers discharged their firearms, resulting in Brooks’ death.

Following the incident, a thorough search of the surrounding apartments revealed the bodies of three adult females and a dog. Fortunately, a child was found unharmed amidst the tragic scene, providing a glimmer of hope in the midst of the devastating events.
