Man Arrested in Connection with Deadly Shooting in Fremont

Fremont police officers have apprehended a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that took place earlier this month. The incident occurred at around 9:45 a.m. on March 5 in the vicinity of Stevenson Boulevard and Albrae Street.

Details of the Incident

Upon receiving reports of a shooting between two vehicles, law enforcement officers rushed to the scene. They discovered that one of the vehicles involved had fled, while the other had crashed. The driver of the crashed vehicle had sustained gunshot wounds and was in critical condition. Despite receiving prompt medical attention and being transported to a trauma center, the victim passed away from their injuries on March 9.

Arrest of the Suspect

Following an investigation, the suspect was identified as Sylvester Carver, a 25-year-old resident of Fremont. Detectives executed an arrest and search warrant at a residence on Hartnett Avenue in Richmond. Carver was apprehended without incident as he was leaving an associate’s home in a vehicle. He has been charged with murder, attempted murder, and willful discharge of a firearm into an occupied vehicle. Carver is currently being held at Santa Rita Jail.
