Mumbai: A shocking incident unfolded in the bustling neighbourhood of Saki Naka in Mumbai, where a man went on a stabbing spree, leaving five individuals injured in his wake. The chaotic event took place on Thursday night, around 9:45 pm, sending shockwaves through the Jarimari area.

Details of the Injured Victims

The victims of this senseless act of violence have been identified as Siddhesh Prakash Ghorpade (23), Rajesh Tangaraj Chettiyar (28), Tangaraj Chettiyar (58), Laxmi Chettiyar (52), and Vikki (30). Among them, Laxmi Chettiyar’s condition is critical, and she is currently receiving medical treatment at Sion Hospital. All the injured individuals reside in the Ambedkar Nagar locality in Jarimari.

Identification of the Accused and His Self-Inflicted Injuries

The perpetrator behind this heinous act has been identified as Inquilab Khan (50), who not only attacked five innocent people with a knife but also inflicted wounds upon himself with the same weapon. Khan, who is facing charges related to drug offenses, sought medical attention at Rajawadi Hospital following his self-harm actions.

Demands for Justice from the Victims’ Families

The incident sparked outrage among the families of the injured victims, leading to a tense situation at Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar and the Sakinaka Police Station. The relatives of the victims vehemently demanded the swift arrest of the assailant, causing a stir in the local community. Eventually, the police intervened, removing the suspect from Rajawadi Hospital and relocating him to another facility.

Law enforcement authorities wasted no time in apprehending the accused, subsequently filing charges against him under section 307 of the IPC for attempted murder. An ongoing investigation is in progress to uncover the motives behind this barbaric attack and ensure that justice is served for the victims.
