Altercation in Manchester Leads to Stabbing Incident

Police in Manchester, Conn., were called to the scene of a violent altercation on Thursday, where two men were reportedly fighting in the area of Cemetery Road and Spencer Street. The situation took a dangerous turn when one of the men was found with a stab wound to the abdomen.

According to authorities, the suspect in the stabbing incident has been identified as Rufus Franklin, a 70-year-old resident of East Hartford. Franklin allegedly fled the scene in a grey pickup truck after the altercation.

Investigations into the incident have revealed that Franklin and the victim were acquainted with each other and were involved in a verbal dispute prior to the stabbing. The injured man was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries.

Charges Filed Against Rufus Franklin

Rufus Franklin is now facing a series of charges in connection with the incident, including second-degree breach of peace, first-degree criminal attempt assault, second-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, and second-degree threatening. He has been remanded in custody on a $500,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court.
