Woman Missing in San Gabriel Mountains Sparks Search Effort
A woman named Rona May Cuena, 59, has gone missing in the San Gabriel Mountains, leaving her loved ones desperate for answers. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has identified Cuena as an at-risk individual who was last seen near the Bridge to Nowhere Trail near Mt. Baldy on March 9.
Details of the Disappearance
According to authorities, Cuena was swept away by a river current around 9 a.m. on the day she went missing and was unable to be rescued from the rushing waters. Since then, her whereabouts remain unknown, causing great concern for her family.
Physical Description
Cuena is described as a 5-foot-tall Filipino woman weighing 105 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue jacket, blue pants, a blue hat, and gray sunglasses.
Search Efforts
The woman’s family has not had any contact with her since the incident, and it is unclear whether she was accompanied by anyone at the time of her disappearance. Authorities are urging anyone who may have seen Cuena or has information about her case to contact the LASD’s Missing Persons Unit at 323-890-5500.
