The unfortunate event took place on Feb. 28 on South Pleasantburg Drive. The crash involved a Chevrolet Silverado and a Ford Super Duty. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado sustained injuries and was rushed to Prisma Greenville Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on March 9. The victim has been identified as 39-year-old Richard Curtis Vanderwood, and the cause of death was determined to be complications from blunt-force trauma to the head.
