Tragedy struck the town of Gudalur when a 44-year-old man, identified as Prasanth from Periya, lost his life in a devastating elephant attack. The incident took place in Oveli late on Thursday night, sending shockwaves through the local community.

Prasanth was returning home after visiting a nearby temple around 10:45 pm when the wild elephant, believed to have come from the adjacent forest, attacked him. The sudden and ferocious nature of the attack left the locals stunned and helpless.
