According to reports confirmed by Benjamin Hundeyin, a superintendent of police and the state’s police public relations officer, the tragic turn of events began when Chibueze returned home from work on a fateful Monday evening. In a hurry, he grabbed some money and left the premises, leaving his family puzzled by his sudden actions.
Things took a darker turn when the boy’s master contacted his sister, revealing that Chibueze had allegedly stolen N100,000 from the shop. Distraught and desperate for answers, the sister, identified only as Cynthia, sought help from the authorities at the Elemoro Police Station when her brother failed to return home.
The Shocking Discovery
Tragedy struck when a neighbour called Cynthia to inform her that Chibueze’s lifeless body was found at the Abijo bus stop in Ajah, Ibeju-Lekki. Rushing to the scene, she was met with a devastating sight – her brother lying motionless with a can of plastic sniper beside him.
Upon further investigation by the police, it was revealed that foam was emanating from the boy’s mouth and nose, indicating a possible ingestion of the lethal substance. The can of sniper was promptly secured as evidence, and Chibueze’s body was transported to the Epe General Hospital mortuary for further examination.
