Police in Serang City, Banten, Uncover Inter-Provincial Drug Ring

Serang, Banten (ANTARA) – In a recent operation, police officers in Serang city, Banten, have uncovered an inter-provincial drug ring that was being operated from a prison. The chief of Serang City Police, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Candra Sasongko, revealed that the investigation led to the arrest of five suspects and the seizure of a significant amount of illegal substances.

Arrest and Seizure Details

The police operation resulted in the arrest of five suspects and the seizure of 34 grams of methamphetamine, along with 393,997 Tramadol and Hexymer tablets. The suspects were identified as MS, RF, ZU, RS, and NZ.

The suspects come from various locations across Indonesia. MS, 25, is from Banten province, while RF, 34, hails from Tangerang district. The remaining three suspects are from Aceh province, East Java province, and Central Java province.

Investigation Details

The investigation into the inter-provincial drug ring began with the arrest of MS on February 20, 2024. MS revealed that he obtained methamphetamine from an inmate identified as R, who was serving time at Tangerang Penitentiary.

Further questioning of R led the police to two other inmates, V and AH, who were also involved in the drug operation. These inmates provided information that led to the arrest of the other four suspects.
