We refused to pay him more money, after which he threatened us. We were taken to a hotel in Belarus, where we were kept for seven days. We were then taken to Russia by road and later to Ukraine. We were forced to fight in the war against our will. We request the Indian government to help us return to our country,” one of the youths said in the video.

Indian Government’s Response

The Indian government has taken cognizance of the reports of Indians being forced to fight in the Russia-Ukraine war and has assured that all necessary steps will be taken to ensure the safe return of these individuals. The MEA has urged all Indian citizens to exercise caution and not fall prey to false promises of lucrative job opportunities abroad.
