The indictment, returned by a grand jury, charges Styles with one count of aggravated battery, a Level 1 felony, for knowingly inflicting injuries on Harmonnie that ultimately led to her tragic death.

Details of the Incident

The heartbreaking incident unfolded on January 8, 2023, when Indianapolis Metropolitan police responded to a call about an unresponsive child at an apartment in the 4400 block of Linwood Court. Emergency personnel rushed Harmonnie, who was identified as the baby in distress, to Riley Hospital for Children, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Following the incident, the baby’s twin was placed under the care of the Department of Child Services.

The Marion County Coroner’s office conducted an investigation and ruled Harmonnie Jones’ death as a homicide, attributing it to blunt force injuries. Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears expressed his dismay over the preventable tragedy, stating, “An infant lost her life because of the alleged actions of the defendant.” He commended the grand jury for their diligence and commitment to seeking justice for Harmonnie.
