Former Mississippi Police Officer Fired for Forcing Arrestee to Lick Urine

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT/Gray News) – A former Mississippi police officer has been fired after a disturbing incident in which he filmed himself forcing an arrestee to lick his own urine off the jail floor, according to officials.

The officer in question, 26-year-old Michael Christian Green, was working as a patrol officer with the Pearl Police Department when the incident took place on December 23, 2023.

The incident started when the arrestee, identified as B.E., was taken into custody at Sam’s Club following a domestic incident.

Surveillance footage revealed that B.E. tried to communicate his need to use the restroom to Green, but received no response, as reported by WLBT.

After being left unattended, B.E. urinated in the corner of the jail cell. When Green discovered the act, he threatened B.E. with physical harm if he did not lick up the urine from the floor, according to court documents.

Green proceeded to film the distressing ordeal as B.E. was forced to comply. The detainee gagged repeatedly as he licked the urine from the floor, while Green stood over him instructing him not to spit it out.

Following the humiliating incident, B.E. was allowed to leave the holding cell but ended up vomiting multiple times in the booking area garbage can.

Upon learning of the incident, Green was promptly relieved of his duties on December 27.

In a court appearance on Thursday, Green pleaded guilty to one count of acting under color of law to deprive a person of their civil rights. He now faces a maximum sentence of 12 months in prison.
