Suspect Arrested in Alabama in Connection with 2022 West Palm Beach Murder

A man believed to be connected to a 2022 murder in West Palm Beach has been apprehended in Alabama. Eric N. Robinson, 21, was taken into custody in Dothan, Alabama, on March 4 in connection with the killing of 39-year-old Travies Jackson. Following his arrest in Palm Beach County on Thursday, Robinson now faces charges of accessory after the fact to first-degree murder with a firearm.

Appearing in a Palm Beach County courtroom for the first time on Friday, Robinson was denied bail and instructed to have no contact with the victim’s family or the co-defendant in the case. The co-defendant, Ainsley D. Gayle Jr., 27, was charged with first-degree murder with a firearm on April 21, 2022.

Court records reveal that on April 13, 2022, eight shots were fired at 1310 Eighth Street at 9:44 p.m. When officers from the West Palm Beach Police Department arrived at the scene following multiple 911 calls, they discovered a man shot and motionless on the sidewalk. The victim, identified as Jackson, was pronounced dead at 9:52 p.m.

Surveillance footage from the incident shows a white Hyundai sedan pulling up alongside Jackson. Two individuals exited the vehicle, with one of them firing multiple shots at Jackson. The car was later abandoned in Riviera Beach, and authorities obtained video footage of two people leaving the vehicle.

A witness came forward and informed law enforcement that they had witnessed the events involving Jackson. The witness claimed that earlier in the day, Jackson had failed to pay after a transaction involving prostitution. The witness, along with two others in the vehicle, went to confront Jackson later in the day. After the shooting, the witness exited the vehicle, and Robinson and Gayle abandoned it in Riviera Beach.

Robinson is scheduled to appear in court again on April 15.
