Details of the Shooting

The shooting took place just after 6:30 p.m. when police were called to the scene on Quinn Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered three women and a young girl who had been shot. Tragically, one adult was pronounced dead at the scene, while two other women sustained minor injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital.

The 11-year-old girl, who was critically injured in the shooting, was transported to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital for urgent medical attention. The police have described the incident as a targeted attack, indicating that the victims were specifically chosen by the perpetrator.

Suspects Charged in Connection with the Shooting

Following the shooting, a man identified as Je’On Davis was found standing near the scene on Quinn Avenue and was taken into custody by the police. Davis claimed that the shooting occurred after his daughters were involved in a fight with other girls in the neighborhood, and a woman intervened in the altercation.

According to Davis, he approached the woman and then walked away. Subsequently, surveillance footage revealed that Davis returned to his vehicle, retrieved a gun, and used it to fatally shoot the woman. Davis has been charged with first-degree murder and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

Arrest of the Deceased Woman’s Daughter

In a surprising development, the deceased woman’s daughter, Destiney Plummer, was also arrested in connection with the incident. Plummer admitted to holding a gun during the altercation, but claimed that it discharged accidentally. She has been charged with reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon and has been released on a $5,000 bond.
